COMMENTS: Coral Sea TROPICAL LOW should develop into a TROPICAL CYCLONE and MOVE WEST towards the coast over the weekend. =============================================== For those interested in the progress of this TROPICAL LOW, whether yourself, have family and/or friends who reside between Cape Tribulation to Proserpine.. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Details of Tropical Low at 10:00 am AEST: Intensity: Tropical Low, sustained winds near the centre of 45 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 85 kilometres per hour. Location: within 110 kilometres of 16.1 degrees South 151.4 degrees East, estimated to be 610 kilometres east of Cairns and 600 kilometres northeast of Townsville. Movement: south at 15 kilometres per hour. The tropical low has been showing signs of strengthening and has been moving towards the south. During Saturday the low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone and adopt a track towards the west, bringing it towards the north Queensland coast. Conditions are expected to favour the continued intensification of the system as it approaches the coast over the weekend. Hazards: GALES are not expected along the coast in the next 24 hours. However, given the expected intensification of the low and the forecast track towards the coast, coastal and island communities between Cape Tribulation and Proserpine, including the Whitsunday Islands, may be affected by this expected tropical cyclone during Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Recommended Action: People between Cape Tribulation and Proserpine should consider what action they will need to take if the cyclone threat increases. The next Information Bulletin will be issued by 5 pm EST today. =============================================== Posted to Townsville Storms by Shane @ 1:20am.

*** COMPUTER MODELS COMING INTO GOOD AGREEMENT ON A COASTAL CROSSING BETWEEN CARDWELL AND AYR ***
*** LATEST MODELLING SUGGESTS A POWERFUL CATEGORY 3 OR 4 CYCLONE IS POSSIBLE AT LANDFALL ***
This evening the computer guidance has come into good agreement on 1. A coastal crossing between Cardwell and Ayr and 2. A Powerful category 3 or 4 cyclone at landfall between Sunday and Tuesday next week, although most suggest between Monday and Tuesday (27th/28th March)
Computer modelling has trended south than what was being suggested last night and now suggests a powerful cyclone coming ashore in the vicinity of Townsville.
It is still too early to tell exactly where the cyclone may come ashore and once again computer modelling will almost certainly continue to change over the coming days. Therefore, it is very important to stay tuned to further updates on this system over the coming days here on Townsville Storms and any Cyclone watches and warnings the Bureau of Meteorology may issue for this system.
Below is the latest satellite imagery of the developing Monsoonal LOW with the latest computer solutions as follows:
1. Satellite image of developing LOW
2. EURO: shows a category 3 or 4 TC coming ashore in the vicinity of Townsville.
5. ESRL FIM 8
• It's important to note the Canadian CMC solution actually doesn't landfall the system at all. It suggests a more easterly solution, where the system remains out to sea and tracks in a south easterly direction away from QLD coastline. This solution is an outlier at present but needs to be factored in to show that there is still some variation in the forecast track Of this system.
Remember folks this is just an update purely for interest on what MAY occur according to what the science is suggesting at present. it is NOT a forecast and NOT in anyway set in stone as to what will occur. It is merely intended to keep everyone up to date with the developing LOW in the coral sea.
What a fraud One Nation are. They want to cut social services, they want to get rid of penalty rates and they cuddle up to the Liberal Party. They claim to stand up for the battlers - what a load of crap! Please Like, Share and go to www.protectourpenaltyrates.org.au to help defend penalty rates.
