How would you feel if, over the last 12 months, your town had experienced a 13% rise in crime? Well, that's exactly what has happened in Townsville.
I will be traveling to Townsville on Tuesday to address the issue of rising crime.
I will be meeting with locals who have been the victims of crime to listen to what they have to say. I will also be meeting with local Councillors and representatives from the police. This is definitely something that needs to be looked into so the problem can be addressed.
What do you think? Is crime on the rise in Australia? Have you experienced rising crime in your city or town? What can be done about it?

"Toorak would've been nice, but it's a bit too 'Eddie McGuire' to raise kids like mine," she said. "I just want them to discover who they really are in a safe environment. Hopefully, before they turn 13."
We're loving P!nk's brilliant idea to throw a Big Sister Party for her daughter. The talented singer and mother-of-two uploaded this happy snap to Instagram, writing "Congrats Big Sis!" New addition Jameson Moon seems oblivious, but how big (and cute) is Willow's smile?! 💗🙌
Meet James and Damian from Victoria. They have been together for 15 years — and hope 2017 is the year for #MarriageEquality!
"We met in 2001 and celebrated our 15 year anniversary in July last year. We are very close and have a deep, strong relationship. Our family have been pushing for us to be married for so long."
"We went to my sister's wedding 8 years ago, it was beautiful. But the entire family feels a sense of injustice that she was able to do this so many years ago, and yet now, we are still waiting."
"We are proud we've been together for 15 years, and want to express our vows in front of our families. We have thought about getting married overseas, but feel strongly about being able to get married in our own country."
