We are very excited to announce that as of tomorrow you will have the chance to visit Werribee Open Range Zoo's four lion cubs!
Born on 13 December 2016 to mum Nairibi and dad Johari, the four cubs are starting to venture out on public display with mum for short periods during the day.
Like all babies, the cubs will need their rest and Keepers have asked for visitors’ patience as they move into the dens to rest and feed.
At this stage staff expect that there will a morning viewing each day, but times may vary due to the cubs’ need to rest and to spend time in the dens getting to know the rest of the pride. As the cubs continue to grow, these viewing times will be extended.

“It’s incredible what you can do when your animals get hurt - you’ve got one dog barking, and another one running around near a snake, so you just spring into action.”
Mischief maker, Max, was bitten by a snake in his backyard recently. Mum, Debbie, told us she grabbed her RSPCA Pet First Aid Guide immediately while calling the vet – “I saw that it said to immobilise your pet and keep them still, so I grabbed him, and got him straight into the lounge room and made him stay on his bed.” Debbie then grabbed a photo of the snake and identified it, as the guide instructed.
“On the phone to the vet, I was able to tell him it was a Whip Snake. They said they cause intense pain and swelling in humans, so he’d need to have an anti-inflammatory injection, and to get a wet cloth and wipe the surface where I could see that he’d been bitten. I was so thankful to have the Pet First Aid Guide handy and would encourage others to order their copy too.”

Debbie said that without the guide: "I would have panicked – you just don’t know what could happen." Luckily, little Max has since recovered from his scary ordeal.
This is a very troubling development, and Australia must stand up against it.
When Labor was in government, we abolished John Howard’s prohibition, which stopped Australian aid money going to organisations that delivered family planning services. We also doubled aid funding for family planning services.
I will fight any effort by the Liberals to strip aid from family planning services in developing countries.
The One Nation Party, with Senators Hinch and Xenophon have done a deal with the Turnbull Government that will diminish the rights of workers and cut apprentice numbers. They say one thing when they're trying to win votes, and do the opposite when they get into the Senate. They cannot be trusted to look after Australian workers. Please Like and Share to get the facts out there.

“She brings back that presence in my home I didn’t recognize was gone. I haven’t had anyone to talk to. It was a void and she has filled that.” These emotional photos of a grandmother after she adopted a little Chihuahua named Minnie have unsurprisingly gone viral <3.

At this time last year I was jumping out of a helicopter from 10,000 feet into the African Jungle and this year, watching the new batch of suckers from the comfort of my own lounge room 😜🙈 They have no bloody idea what's ahead of them, they really don't..... #evillaugh 😂 @imacelebrityau
"When a company like Wicked Campers puts a van on the road with the slogan "Fat girls are harder to kidnap" or "I can already imagine the gaffer tape on your mouth," the question has to be asked: what's the joke supposed to be? I understand some people find those ideas funny, but I'd be curious for them to explain why.
In a country that holds the legacy of Anita Cobby in its history, not to mention the Ivan Milat backpacker murders, what could possibly be funny about the image of someone restrained and bound against their will in the back of a van? To those who defend or laugh at this kind of "humour", I want to ask a simple academic question: what's the joke, and why is it funny?"
I wrote about humour, kicking down instead of up and challenging defenders of bigoted 'jokes' to explain why they think they're funny.
