South Australia Police are aware of a post being shared on social media which reports that a child was “almost abducted” at Civic Park in Adelaide's north-east while a mother was tending to her baby – there has been NO REPORT of this nature to police and we believe this to be a hoax viral post, which is unwittingly being shared by well-meaning members of the community. The post suggests a mother was tending a baby when a man took another child at a playground and ran off, but he later dropped the child. Variations of this post, which have been seen by SAPOL, note this has been reported to police. This information, which is understandably of great concern to the community, is false. Please do not share this post, but instead share THIS information with the community! Thanks.

Ndagire owns a business in Uganda, reselling vegetables. She started her business in 2009, with a small loan of $80. Since then she has managed to increase her business and now owns a shop right off the main road. One of the reasons Ndagire decided to start her business was to support her 18 month old daughter. She says she wants to see her daughter go to school and teach her how to run her own business one day. As students across Australia head back to school this week, it’s hard to imagine going to school without desks or seats – but for many children around the world, this is the case. A lack of infrastructure in poorer communities can often mean students have to sit on the floor during class, which can be quite uncomfortable for long periods of time. However thanks to the support of people like you, 11 schools across India received 650 sets of desks & benches so these children now have a comfortable place to sit and are able to concentrate on their studies. It's no secret that we love a good sunset. Lucky for us, the sunsets all around Western Australia rarely disappoint! Here's just a few of our favourites from summer (and believe us when we say it was a tough job narrowing it down to just these).
Seen a special sunset lately? We'd love to see it! Share your own pics in the comments. 😎🌅☀
We’ve been feeling pretty crappy with everything going on across the pond right now. And like us, you might feel like you want to do something. We want all refugees to feel welcome, and one amazing organisation that works hard to make that happen is Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC). So we’ve just donated $10,000 (on top of our regular donations) to help them provide much needed services for those seeking asylum here in Australia. If you feel like donating too, you can either do it directly through their website, or, if you’d like to donate a box of toilet paper to families setting up home, you can do so below. After all, nothing says welcome like a box of dunny paper. #refugeeswelcome https://au.whogivesacrap.org/products/donate-a-box-of-toilet-paper-to-asrc
