With bushfires bearing down on so many parts of regional Australia right now, many people want to know how they can help livestock caught up in the fire-zone.
Well, here's a simple idea that could save lives. When a catastrophic fire is approaching, write your phone number on horses (or other animal's) hooves and then open gates so they can run to safety if required. This simple act could be a lifesaver...
"Still in shock from our near miss the week before Xmas. The Police have just released the footage back to us. All parties involved walked away, including my wife and I. I can certainly vouch for the safety standard of the Subaru WRX, may have been a different story otherwise. Other driver was charged but the Police would not elaborate. I can only assume either texting or a microsleep was to blame. Someone was certainly watching over us that day. 17 Dec 2016 Heading Northbound on Pacific Hwy - Tyndale, NSW (North of Grafton). 100 Km/h two way section of the Highway. Please share this video and remind your family & friends of how important it is to stay alert on the roads, never play with your phone & rest when you start to feel tired... you just never know what's around the corner."

A motorist has been robbed of cash and other items after being pulled over in Adelaide’s north by men who appeared to be impersonating police. In the second incident of its type reported to SA Police this month, the driver was travelling along Spains Rd, Salisbury about 10pm last night when a vehicle behind him flashed its beam headlights and activated a blue flashing light on the dashboard. The motorist pulled his white Toyota Corolla sedan over to the side of the road near Montana Drive and was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a machete. The suspects threatened the victim before stealing cash, a sports bag and a suitcase containing clothing from within the vehicle. The victim did not receive any physical injuries during the incident. “Police are aware of a similar incident which occurred about 2.30pm on Friday 3 February on the Thiele Highway between Kapunda and Eudunda,” Detective Chief Inspector Shane Addison, from the Elizabeth Local Service Area, said. “The suspect descriptions do not match however Elizabeth CIB and Barossa CIB are investigating any potential connection between these two incidents." The two suspects, along with a third person who did not get out of the vehicle, drove away after the robbery and were last seen heading north-west along Spains Road towards the Hollywood Plaza Shopping Centre. The armed suspect is described as being aged about 50, of Caucasian appearance, about 178cm tall with short dark hair. Wearing a black T-shirt and dark jeans, he was very thin, had unshaven stubble and missing teeth, along with a black cursive writing tattoo on the left side of his neck. The second suspect is described as being aged 20, with dark hair and wearing gloves. The victim was unable to describe the third suspect or the vehicle.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of either of these offences or may have information about these matters is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au/

Good afternoon On December 5th last year,I had an operation to remove a benign golf ball size tumour from my abdomen along with my spleen. Since then I have been back to Hospital 3 times because of the infection, the last visit was 16 days, after which I came home last Wednesday. I am making a good recovery on oral antibiotics and look forward to playing at Mt Gambier and The St Kilda Festival next weekend.
